Design Journey

Design and Art is my passion. Colors, shapes, animals, creatures, and nature all inspire and excite me. I've been involved in some form of art since childhood and have worked in the creative field across various industries. My passion for design will continue as long as I am conscious. I've evolved from creating basic HTML websites to designing more complex applications and tools for web and mobile, always with the user in mind. I strive to create simple, usable designs that are tailored to meet their needs.

My philosophy for User Centered Design

Simple and Beautiful

I believe in beauty with simplicity. Designs should be capable of performing and functioning in todays world. A prototype for future designs. Just like the bullock cart was the prototype for today's auto industry.

User experience is the backbone of any business model and if we can provide delightful experiences, our users will be drawn to leverage our products in a repeatable and sustainable way. If our users are struggling to use our products, we must disrupt, reevaluate our value proposition and change our design thinking as quickly as possible because its the end-users who influence how a design takes shape.

I’ve always liked one of the passage in Steve Krug's book, “Don't make me think!: a common sense approach to web usability.” People won’t use your Web site if they can’t find their way around it. You know this from your own experience as a Web user. If you go to a site and can’t find what you’re looking for or figure out how the site is organized, you’re not likely to stay long—or come back.

Design Loop

Loop is one of the framework Inspired from IBM Design Thinking. Others are Principles and The Keys. Below are the 3 stages which are being iterated in the design loop lifecycle.

What goes in Design Thinking Process

01. Design Thinking
• User research • Interviews • Asking users whats working and whats not working • Journey maps • Empathy map • Storyboarding • Big idea vignettes • Value Mapping • As-is Scenario • To-be Scenario • Need Statements (focus on the pain points) • Hills

02. Prototype
• Sketches • Wireframes • Paper prototypes • Interactive prototypes

03. Playback Zero
• Observation • Feedback Grid/ Aggregate Findings • Usability labs • Questionnaires • Data analytics • Sponsor Users

04. Implement
• Style guides • Visual design • Pattern libraries • UI development • Design sprints

Open to learn, coach and adapt to any new skills. I believe hard skills are easier to learn or coached. If i'm working in a team, I would not expect my peers to know everything and I would be willing to overlook certain hard skill deficits.
